Camtoe Persians
Hi there, my name is Cammy
I have been breeding Persian cats since 1989 and obtained my prefix of Camtoe Persians in 1990.
My first Persian was a kitten called Suzie, we lovingly called her ‘Suzie babe where are you?'
Unfortunately at a young age she became ill so we had her tested for leukaemia 'twice'. The results were positive so took the advice of the veterinary surgeon and had to let her go.
Although my first was a sad loss I was still very interested so I purchased another Persian called Tiggy'
The rest has been a multitude of kittens over the past 20 years, some of which I sold on to breeders, had neutered and kept or let go for adoption as pets.
Back in 2001 my first stud boy also became ill, this was my first encounter of ‘PKD' (polycystic kidney disease) His name was ‘Blue Boy'
He was suffering from kidney failure; we did all that we could but unfortunately we also had to let him go.
It has been a bumpy ride, but very fulfilling and satisfying, especially when you see the kittens you have reared; either by the mother or on occasion by hand, go onto a loving home or to another breeder for them to breed from, use as stud or put on the show bench.
What I would like to add at this point is that I always take pride in breeding quality not quantity, so I do not always have many kitten for sale.
I used to show my Persians, but haven't for a while. I will do again sometime in the future and keep you updated with picures and info, so watch this space!.
In the past I have gained by showing:
Champions, Grand Champions, Best of Breed and Red Card Days
I am also a member of:
The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy
